Kogan to offer credit card in 2019

Online marketplace Kogan has entered a multi-year agreement with Citi to launch a Kogan Money Credit Card, expected to be made available in 2019.

The card will offer unique loyalty incentives for customers to shop on Kogan.com, and is to be competitively priced, according to a statement made by the business.

Citi will issue the card, while providing the infrastructure, servicing, back office processing, regulatory and compliance oversight, and branded digital platforms. Kogan, on the other hand, will market the cards and provide loyalty fulfilment.

“Kogan.com is proud to be partnering with Citi, the world’s largest credit card issuer, to deliver Aussie consumers a Kogan Money Credit Card which will provide outstanding value when shopping on Kogan.com and elsewhere,” Kogan executive director David Shafer said.

“We chose to partner with Citi because of their forward thinking and ability to leverage digital efficiency to deliver compelling value to Kogan customers.”

Alan Machet, head of Citi Australia’s consumer bank, said Citi was excited about the partnership and that the card would be unique in the market, and provide strong value for Australian consumers.

Kogan branded credit cards is just the latest in a string of category diversification from the online retailer, having recently launched its own superannuation offering, as well as selling whitegoods, internet, pet and health insurance.
