Homewares retailer relaunches online

Australian homewares retailer MyHouse relaunched its e-commerce site this month in response to growing consumer demand.

With up to 25,000 daily visitors, the previous site was beginning to slow during peak times.

“I realised we were beginning to outgrow our site when our web server would crash every time we’d announce an exciting new promotion via EDM, driving traffic to the website,” said MyHouse managing director, Richard Jarjoura.

The relaunch also provided an opportunity to offer additional features, such as access to more product images, colour swatches and a store locator. MyHouse has 41 retail stores in Australia.

These were in direct response to customer feedback, according to Jarjoura.

“Our customers told us they wanted a faster load time, so we went with the fastest in the world. They told us they wanted access to additional order tracking information, so we’ve made real time tracking updates accessible from their online account,” he said.

“They told us they wanted to see more images, so we’ve built in a feature which displays multiple angles and lifestyle product shots with a single click of the mouse.”

The relaunch also aims to modernise the brand with the new look of its website, which will continue to evolve in line with customer feedback.

“In the future we are going to get a blog online which outlines all our styling tips, trends and themes, so that customers can shop the whole MyHouse story,” Jarjoura said.
