Australia Post expands next-day delivery service to Perth, Adelaide
Australia Post has expanded its Australia Post Metro next-day delivery service to Perth and Adelaide.
The Australian government-owned courier noted that recent data showed 68 per cent of online shoppers are likely to abandon their cart if they find the delivery method too slow.
“We’ve been listening to our customers, and know they expect more choice, simplicity and reliability when ordering online,” said Gary Starr, executive GM of parcel, post and e-commerce services at Australia Post.
“The Australia Post Metro service raises the bar for customers – prioritising next-day delivery in metropolitan areas enabling us to respond to that demand and deliver parcels to customers’ doors sooner.”
Big W is among the retailers that are expected to benefit from the additional next-day delivery service destinations.
“Next-day delivery joins many convenient ways to shop at Big W including pick up and direct-to-boot services,” said Jo-Ann Hicks, director of e-commerce and digital business at Big W.
Australia Post said that its Australia Post Metro service has delivered more than 2.6 million parcels since its launch.
