The Volte fashion-sharing platform launches in the UK

Australian fashion rental platform The Volte has expanded into the UK, allowing users to rent designer fashion through the platform’s one-click service.

The circular economy-based platform – described as the “Airbnb of fashion – allows its users to both rent designer clothing and rent out their own designer clothing to generate income.

“When customers make more conscious and quality additions to their wardrobe, they can make a return up to four times the amount of their initial purchase price via The Volte and extend the life of their garment,” said co-founder and chief brand and strategy officer Kellie Hush.

She said the launch reinforces Australia’s position as a leading fashion technology innovator, with The Volte providing a means to address the growing global demand for sustainable fashion.

“Our entry into the UK is a significant milestone for The Volte as we continue to expand globally,” said co-founder and CEO Bernadette Olivier.

“Our proof of concept with our thriving marketplace, technology and brand partners in Australia gives us the insight and drive as we offer UK consumers something new in the rental segment.”
