Square launches free website builder

Burgeoning e-commerce businesses have a new option to build their online presence, with the launch of Square Online Store from the payment provider, Square, today.

Square’s new offering aims to give small business owners the tools they need to start or grow their e-commerce business instantly, the company said.

The free offering includes tools to build a professional website and sync Square data, such as catalog items and inventory, with the website. Businesses can also access integrations with Instagram, shipping and in-store pick-up solutions. There are also special features for restaurants that want to be able to accept online orders.

“Square Online Store is a unique e-commerce product that will make it easier than ever before for Australian businesses to start selling online, and they can now get started free,” the company’s Australian country manager, Ben Pfisterer said.

“The ability to use one simple system that seamlessly shares data, reconciles sales and gives you a holistic view of your business across all platforms is a big advantage for time-poor business owners.”

This is the first product to be fully integrated with Weebly since Square acquired the San Francisco-based company that provides tools to build, host and manage professional websites and online stores for US$365 million last year.
