ShopBack gives $75k to users over weekend
Digital loyalty platform ShopBack Australia hosted Australia’s first ‘Cashback’ event over the weekend, celebrating a milestone 72000 app downloads, and give back approximately $75000 in cash over the two days.
The event saw users take advantage of up to 49 per cent cashback rates on over 700 retail partners such as The Iconic, Amazon Australia, Deliveroo, Cotton On, Woolworths Online, Groupon and more.
ShopBack confirmed to Internet Retailing that performance was six-fold its usual traffic on the Sunday, with 69 per cent of shoppers accessing the store via mobile and 31 per cent via desktop.
‘Super Deals’ were available on the day, and offered exclusive promo codes such as 19 per cent cashback on The Iconic, 20 per cent cashback on Cotton On and 12 per cent cashback on Amazon Australia.
Top categories for the sale included deal coupons, fashion deals and groceries, which some customers aimed for more niche products, including sex toys, Lego sets, DIY household products and supplements.
Geographically, the city which made the most purchases was Sydney, followed by Melbourne.
ShopBack operates across 7 APAC countries, and offers more than 1500 e-commerce merchants.
