Primark to offer click-and-collect service as it ramps up online presence

Fast-fashion retailer Primark will trial a click-and-collect service later this year across its kids’ range in the UK as the company – a latecomer among its peers to e-commerce – looks to boost its online profile.

Customers in the northwest will have access to more than 2000 kids’ products including clothing, accessories, and toys.

The company says that nearly 40 per cent of its items will be available on Click & Collect including some specific online-only products.

The kids’ range includes selections from newborn babies up to age 15. Seasonal products such as rainwear, beach and holiday wear and licenced merchandise will also be available throughout the year.

Paul Marchant, Primark CEO, said the trial is a “milestone” for the business and builds on the investments the company had made over the last two years in new technology. Primark launched its UK website only last April.

“It brings together more choice and greater convenience and complements the great in-store experience that is at the heart of our business.”

Customers will be able to collect their online orders from a newly created collection point inside the Primark stores.
