The Outnet to bring local fashion favourite on board

Australian apparel retailer Camilla is set to launch on global discount luxury site The Outnet this month.

It joins an expanding list of over 350 brands, including Aussie favourites Rebecca Vallance, Zimmermann, The Upside, Dion Lee and Ellery.

The Bondi Beach-born brand is best known for its colourful kaftans, though it now offers a full range of clothing, and has long attracted a global audience.

Founder Camilla Franks told Channel Ten in April that the brand was embraced by customers in Dubai, while it struggled to gain traction in Australia.

The addition of Camilla reflects The Outnet’s commitment to Australian designers, as it looks to tap into the Asia Pacific market.

Andres Sosa, executive vice president of sales, marketing and creative at The Outnet, previously spoke to Internet Retailing about the potential for growth in the region, which is driving changes on the site.

“For example, we have recently re-launched our ‘Just In’ section for Australia with a targeted visual merchandising approach,” he said.

“The page now contains more seasonally appropriate products, colors and brands dedicated to the market, reacting to events such as Spring Racing which is especially relevant for Melbourne and Sydney.”
