Meal box delivery service Marley Spoon expands to Queensland

Meal kit delivery service, Marley Spoon, is launching in Brisbane and the Gold Coast with delivery available from July 11, 2016.

Founded by Delivery Hero CEO, Fabian Segel, in Germany, the meal kit provider is similar to HelloFresh, home delivering recipes and ingredients weekly. 

After launching in the US, UK, Germany and The Netherlands, Marley Spoon Australia launched in June 2015 in Sydney, and quickly expanded to service Melbourne and Canberra.

Having received $22 million in Series B funding in early 2016, the company has been able to accelerate growth plans into the east coast of the US and Brisbane, as well as develop a mobile app to facilitate account management and customisation.

“The meal kit delivery industry is growing rapidly as we become busier and look for ways to simplify our lives. Australians are also food lovers so we know that amazing flavour is incredibly important, not just convenience,” said Rolf Weber, MD Marley Spoon Australia.
