eBay announces the launch of a new mobile app for Androidcaptureebay

7 July 2010 – eBay.com.au today announced the launch of a new eBay application for the Android handset, making shopping on the go even more accessible.
Free to download from the Android Market, the application will allow users to search, buy, pay, and check the status of their eBay activity from their Android handset – bringing the world’s largest online marketplace to their fingertips, anytime, anywhere.
eBay spokesperson, Jenny Thomas said Australian consumers increasingly want the convenience of shopping while on the move.

“eBay mobile sales are growing faster in Australia than in any other major market, with an item purchased through an eBay app every 15 seconds. This latest Android application will help even more Australians to pick up a bargain on the site regardless of whether they’re on the bus or at the beach.”
Android eBay app key features:
Voice search: In addition to type search, the eBay application comes enabled with speech-to-text voice search. Advanced search: Search within specific preloaded categories, refine your search based on select criteria or search for completed listings. Buyer alerts: Stay up to date on the status of your auctions and watched items with timely alerts sent to your handset. Feedback: Share your eBay experience by leaving Feedback for items bought and sold via the application. PayPal integration: The eBay app comes with PayPal integration, delivering a safe and secure environment. Buy It Now: Shoppers can purchase the items they want right away, at a set price, without having to wait for a listing to end.
The Android application can be downloaded by searching ‘eBay’ from the Android Market.
eBay.com.au has a number of mobile platforms available for download, including applications for iPhone & iPod Touch, iPad, BlackBerry, Android and Mobile Web.
