Australia Post launches Parcel Hubs in 14 malls

To help retailers send and receive packages more easily, Australia Post is trialling a new “Parcel Hub” concept across five shopping centre groups.

The service, which is currently available in 14 locations across Queensland, NSW and Victoria, offers retailers “greater flexibility” with the receipt and management of stock, offering convenient collection points for e-commerce orders and in-person support.

On-site teams will consolidate incoming and outgoing Australia Post and StarTrack items with pick-up and drop-off times arranged thus helping retailers control when deliveries are made.

Gary Starr, executive GM of parcel post & e-commerce services at Australia Post, said the service will help retailers deliver parcels quickly and efficiently to their customers.

“Our new Parcel Hubs have been put in place to meet the changing needs of retailers who are also adapting to changes in consumer behaviour and expectations.

“The initial feedback from retailers has been excellent with many loving having an Australia Post team onsite that can schedule delivery and pick-ups at times that cause minimal disruption to the shop floor.”
