Amazon reveals Australian Prime Day dates
Amazon Australia is bringing back its Prime Day sales event in mid-July, with seven days of member deals confirmed.
The event will run from July 7 to July 13 – markedly different to Amazon Prime Day in the US, which takes place from June 23 to June 26.
Down Under, Harris Farm Markets will offer Prime members discounts on its grocery products, marking the first time the grocer has partnered for Prime Day since it joined the Amazon platform in January.
Amazon says its research shows that Australians are increasingly dependent on sales events: This year, consumers will spend $425 during sales events, with 46 per cent actively comparing prices across online retailers before making a purchase.
Last year, Amazon said that everyday essentials, electronics, and home and kitchen products were the most popular categories.
Arno Lenior, director of Amazon Prime Apac, said Australians are planning ahead and comparing options more carefully. “Prime Day has become the event they turn to. As one of the biggest shopping events of the season, with free and fast delivery, Prime Day is unmissable for shoppers across Australia.”
