Big W joins DoorDash as it expands regional reach
Big W has launched on DoorDash across 156 stores, allowing customers to order products spanning toys, clothing, electronics, beauty and household essentials.
Delivery is estimated at as little as 60 minutes, with the rollout reaching more than 80 per cent of Australia’s population.
The launch follows Big W’s introduction of DoorDash-powered same-day delivery in May. Small appliances, nursery products, toys and bed linen have been among the most popular items ordered.
DoorDash has expanded into regional communities across four Australian states while adding Big W’s 35,000-plus products to its on-demand delivery offering.
The regional rollout, which began on October 12, extends the platform to more than 410,000 Australians across WA, SA, Victoria and Tasmania.
New markets include Geraldton, Albany and Kalgoorlie-Boulder in WA; Port Lincoln and Port Augusta in SA; Wangaratta, Sale and Horsham in Victoria; and Kingston, Blackmans Bay and Ulverstone in Tasmania, among others.
The expansion gives local restaurants, grocery retailers and convenience stores access to a broader customer base, while creating additional earning opportunities for delivery workers.
“This expansion is about supporting local communities by helping merchants grow, creating flexible earning opportunities for Dashers, and making everyday life a little easier for residents. We’re proud to be investing in regional Australia and look forward to becoming part of these communities,” said Simon Rossi, VP, Apac at DoorDash.
