AliExpo 2024: Alibaba trade expo expands into B2B

E-commerce giant Alibaba Group is bringing back AliExpo, an event that aims to offer businesses an opportunity to grow and gain new connections to the international market.

Themed “Crafted Down Under, Love Worldwide: Where Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Meet Asia”,  this year’s expo will highlight the importance of international trade in a rapidly changing landscape.

The Expo will feature a full-day conference with keynote speakers focusing on Southeast Asia and China. Panel discussions will offer insights into how brands can better appeal to Asian consumers, the cross-border e-commerce ecosystem, the latest trends, future forecasts, logistics and marketing.

Previously focusing on business-to-consumer, Alibaba’s conference this year will now include business-to-business brands in a range of categories including health, food and agriculture, and those with OEM (original equipment manufacturer) capacity looking to reach global markets and export opportunities.

Kit Yau, head of marketing at Alibaba Group ANZ said this year’s expo aims to celebrate global business excellence, extending beyond China, and embracing the Asian market.

“The Expo will provide value to Australian businesses large and small,” said Yau.

“Businesses can still partake and sign up to join the Expo through our site, where they will be able to access insights from other brands who have successfully entered the Asian market.”

AliExpo 2024 will take place from March 15- 16 at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Sydney.
