Harvey Norman launches three hour delivery
Electrical retailer, Harvey Norman, has today launched a three-hour delivery option in major cities.
Harvey Norman has partnered with logistics start-up Shippit to offer customers the ability to schedule (and reschedule) a delivery time between 7am and 10pm weekdays and live GPS track deliveries. The service is now available in QLD, VIC, NSW with WA, SA enabled by end of this week.
The delivery service is available for small appliances, consumer electronics, and small goods. Fulfilment is taken care of by Bonds Couriers and customers can also rate their experience and provide feedback on the delivery itself.
“Providing a seamless purchase experience for our customers is critical,” said Gary Wheelhouse, chief digital officer for Harvey Norman.
“We introduced click & collect in 2012 to make it easier for customers to get the items they bought online, from their local Harvey Norman store. By using those same stores, we can now offer even greater flexibility and improved customer service with our new scheduled, same day delivery option.
“We have looked to smart software to help overcome this challenge and the despatch system that Shippit has developed takes our operations into consideration, making it frictionless for our franchisees’ store staff to send out products for same day delivery.”
Rob Hango-Zada, joint-CEO of Shippit said the business worked with Harvey Norman to co-develop a ship-from-store dispatch process.
“Great service has historically been overlooked in favour of cheaper delivery rates and easier booking methods for retailers,” said Hango-Zada.
“Shippit does both while also ensuring our retail clients benefit too. Our business has experienced significant growth since launching early last year with 50 per cent growth month-on-month, and our announcement today is just one of many key strategic partnerships that we have in line to grow our business even further to achieve our ultimate goal: putting an end to the anxiety faced by online shoppers.”

Is it delivered within 3 hours from purchase, or is it delivered same day – within a 3 hour window?

Rob from Shippit.com here. I can confirm that orders placed on the Harvey Norman website for Same Day or Scheduled delivery will be delivered within a 3-hour window.
