Amazon Australia seeks 1400 seasonal workers for peak online sale

Amazon Australia is offering 1400 seasonal roles at its fulfilment centres and logistics sites nationwide to support the mid-year sales season.

The e-commerce giant has opened 350 jobs in Victoria, 700 jobs in New South Wales, 130 jobs in Western Australia and 200 jobs in Queensland.

“We offer all kinds of jobs for all kinds of people and are focused on creating a safe and inclusive workplace for them. Now, we have 1,400 roles to fill with motivated and enthusiastic people looking for a short-term role,” said Jacqui Marker, HR director for operations at Amazon Australia.

“We provide on-the-job training so no previous experience or formal qualifications are required, and Prime Day always promises to be an exciting time of year!”

Prime Day is Amazon’s annual shopping event offering exclusive discounts for Prime members for various products.

“As Australians continue to grapple with rising living costs and seek ways to stretch their budgets, we are working hard to secure huge savings for members this Prime Day,” said Arno Lenior, director of Prime at Amazon Australia.

“Members will be able to take advantage of deep discounts from popular brands and fantastic small and medium Aussie businesses, and enjoy the convenience of fast, free delivery on eligible items through Prime.”

The company said that the seasonal roles may present opportunities for permanent employment.
