Uber Eats launches dine-out promotion to boost restaurant patronage

Uber has launched a new feature called Dine Out, which allows the Uber Eats app into a way to get more affordable dining options across Sydney.
The company has partnered with OpenTable for this initiative and will allow diners to make reservations and ‘book a ride’ to the destination on the Uber Eats app.
“It’s a thrill and privilege for Australia to be the first market anywhere in the world to test and finesse the new Dine Out product – one we know will benefit restaurants and bring additional convenience and value to Sydney-siders and visitors alike,” said Ed Kitchen, MD of Uber Eats Australia and New Zealand.
The company plans to include hundreds of brands in this feature and offer dine-in discounts upon its implementation in June.
Venues including Catalina, Fabbrica, Wings and Tins, Malabar, Employees Only and Raw Bar are set to go online at the time of the launch.
“The onset of winter has traditionally marked a slowdown for hospitality operators, so initiatives like this are very welcome in order to maintain the interest in our sector,” said Suresh Manickam, CEO of Australia’s Restaurant and Catering Association.
“What’s more, seasonal changes also bring with them new and delicious menu selections that many more Sydneysiders will be able to experience as intended on premise alongside great service and now thanks to Dine Out – affordably,” he said.
