Pet startup partners with major retailer

Australian startup PetCloud is gearing up to expand across the country through a new partnership with Greencross Limited, which owns Petbarn.

PetCloud is an online community for pet owners to search, connect, and easily book verified and insured pet care services.

Founder Deb Morrison came up with the idea while trying to find trustworthy and available pet care for her pet when she had to travel.

“I created PetCloud as a way to safely connect pet owners with screened, local pet sitters who could care for pets in a loving homely environment – be that the carer’s home or within the pet’s own home,” she said.

“Through our own research and customer feedback, we have been told Pet Owners have a great sense of comfort knowing their pet is being looked after in a home environment.”

All PetCloud’s registered pet carers are subjected to a series of police and verification checks and owners can choose from a variety of pet sitters to match their pet’s needs.

PetCloud has also partnered with the RSPCA, which provide ongoing guidance, and donates a portion of all profits through online bookings to the organisation.

In addition to its core offering of pet-sitting, PetCloud also offers other services, including pet vaccination reminders, doggy day care, dog walking, house sitting, cat sitting and pet taxis to vet and grooming appointments.

The new partnership between PetCloud and Greencross Limited Group is expected to enable better access to a greater range of home pet care, boarding and health services and products offered by the two brands.
