NZ fashion brand Moochi launches into Australia in pureplay form
Kiwi womenswear brand Moochi has marked its first global launch in Australia, hitting a significant milestone in the brand’s 25-year history.
The debut will see Moochi introduce a dedicated Australian e-commerce platform, alongside the release of its first 2026 collection, Palette One: Construct, in January.
Australia will serve as a test market for a digital-led expansion model, built upon a steady demand from Australian customers who have been purchasing via Moochi’s NZ online store. This approach allows the brand to better understand local shoppers before moving forward with brick-and-mortar openings, followed by broader global ambitions.
Morgan Taylor, Australian marketing and business manager at Moochi, described the market entry as a move with humility.
“After 25 years of becoming one of New Zealand’s most loved brands, it’s with great excitement that Moochi arrives in Australia,” she said. “Starting online allows us to learn quickly and intentionally, while staying true to the premium experience our customers expect.”
Founded in 2000 in a small coastal town, Moochi operates through its strong retail footprint and e-commerce channels, delivering contemporary and locally rooted designer pieces in 13 stores across its home country. The brand’s strategic pivot lies in providing a versatile wardrobe that can shift between work, weekend and everyday wear.
“While New Zealand and Australia share similarities, we respect that they are very different. This launch is about listening, learning and ensuring we meet the Australian customer where she is,” Taylor added.
Moochi’s recently launched Palette One: Construct collection, which comes to life in a mix of muted, neutral, and bold colour shades, is now available via its ANZ websites.
