Nominations for the Top 50 People in E-commerce open

The annual search for Australia’s Top 50 People in E-commerce is currently underway, with Inside Retail launching nominations late last week.

Now in its ninth year, this list is dedicated to highlighting the leaders and trailblazers in the Australian e-commerce community. Nominations opened on Friday and will close at 11:59 pm on October 10.

All eligible nominees will receive an invitation to submit an application, which will be reviewed by our panel of judges. Candidates are encouraged to delineate their achievements from the past 12 months in three critical areas: commercial success, innovation, and their broader impact.

Heather McIlvaine, managing editor at Inside Retail, notes that the annual list has gained significant popularity in recent years as e-commerce continues to expand.

“When we first published the list back in 2016, only seven per cent of retail sales were conducted online, direct-to-consumer brands were all the rage, and TikTok had not yet emerged,” she said. “Eight years later, e-commerce penetration has more than doubled, marketplaces have surged in prominence, and we are all enthralled by viral dance memes. It’s the rapid pace of change that makes working in e-commerce so exhilarating.”

Previous winners include Ellie Degraeve (pictured, left) – a 2023 Inside Small Business Top 50 Small Business Leaders judge – founder & CEO of Go For Zero; former Adore Beauty CEO Tennealle O’Shannessy; and the founder of Flora & Fauna, Julie Mathers.

All eligible nominees will receive an invitation to apply, and their applications will be evaluated by our panel of expert judges. You can nominate outstanding people in the E-commerce space here. This year’s judging panel comprises:
