New shipping platform for SMEs hopes to help ‘ambitious entrepreneurs’
SendNow, a new international shipping platform designed by Asendia, has launched with the goal of letting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) scale internationally without barriers.
Asendia said the service has been introduced to cater to the 100,000 active e-commerce SMEs in Australia, 66 per cent of which sell internationally.
“Australian small businesses are leading the charge in cross-border e-commerce, with 94 per cent actively working to expand into new international markets,” Lou Milicevic, MD of Asendia Australia, said.
“We felt that there was an SME dedicated solution missing in the market that allowed e-tailers to expand with no minimum volume. SendNow by Asendia has been built from the ground up to remove the complexity and cost barriers that have traditionally held back smaller shippers.
“We’re giving ambitious Australian entrepreneurs the same professional logistics capabilities as much larger retailers.”
The announcement comes shortly after the collapse of courier service Sendle, which in early January closed without notice, leaving thousands of customers reportedly with unfulfilled deliveries.
For international deliveries, SendNow will be backed by Asendia’s global carrier network and reach more than 200 destinations worldwide.
The platform has been built with Parcel2Go, a UK-based courier comparison and delivery service that allows individuals and businesses to find and book parcel delivery options from various couriers.
“We’ve built SendNow with a deep understanding of what small business owners need,” Milicevic added. “From transparent live rates and simple onboarding to seamless platform integrations and 24/7 support, every feature has been designed to make international shipping as straightforward as domestic delivery.”
