JB Hi-Fi, Ebay most-visited shopping sites in Australia

JB Hi-Fi has taken out top gong as Australia’s most visited shopping website, according to a new study that measured traffic to desktop sites only.

Analysis of local visitors to retail websites conducted by Cuponation has found that the technology retailer drew in 74.02 million visits between January and June.

This far exceeded the traffic of JB’s online-only competitor Kogan.com, which, according to the study, drew in 42.82 million visitors in the same period.

But when international websites are brought into the mix the picture changes. International marketplaces come out on top, with Ebay’s local platform leading the list at 404.67 million visitors.

While only 80.46 million Aussies visited Ebay’s American platform from January to June of this year, 111.82 million went over to Amazon’s now restricted (for Australians at least) American website.

That dwarf’s local uptake of Amazon’s marketplace, which only clocked in 52.44 million visits.
