The Iconic adds ex-David Jones exec to advisory committee
Australian online fashion retailer The Iconic has appointed retail industry veteran Donna Player as an independent member of its Advisory Committee.
Player most recently served as head of merchandise at David Jones, where she was responsible for the department store’s key categories including apparel, footwear and accessories, both in-store and online.
Prior to her time at David Jones, Player held a wide variety of senior management roles across the retail sector. She brings 30 years’ experience to The Iconic’s comparatively recent foray into the fashion industry.
“As one of Australia’s youngest, most ambitious and fastest growing retailers we are delighted to welcome Donna Player, a renowned industry veteran, to our Advisory Committee,” The Iconic CEO Patrick Schmidt said.
“At just five years old, [we] will benefit greatly from her extensive experience and guidance as we approach exciting milestones on our journey.”
Romain Voog, CEO of Global Fashion Group, parent company of The Iconic, said, “We are pleased to appoint such an accomplished professional within the fashion retail industry to the Advisory Committee of The Iconic.”
Player said she is looking forward to working with Schmidt and his team: “I look forward to working with Patrick and his team, building on the fantastic successes that have already been achieved and together creating real value for the future in this exciting space.”
