Dinnerly expands meal-kit menu

Low-cost meal kit business Dinnerly has this week increased the weekly menu size and expanded its range of vegetarian, healthy and family friendly options.

Owned and operated by Marley Spoon, the business was first launched to provide premium service at an affordable price. However the company’s Marketing MD and co-founder Dave Malcolm says the business has grown to the point where it’s now more than just low-cost delivery and meals.

“We’re continuing to focus on providing customers across Marley Spoon and Dinnerly with more choice and flexibility so they can tailor their meal-kit experience to match the needs of their lifestyle and their families.

The changes to the service are in line with a slew of recent updates, including expanding the number of meals customers can order per box, which dropped Dinnerly’s starting price to less than $4.95 per portion.

Last year, CEO of Marley Spoon Fabian Siegel confirmed he expected his meal kits to become even cheaper than supermarkets in the future thanks to the company’s specific business model.

He told Inside FMCG that the business could cut costs and compete due to having a “very different supply chain without any of the terrible waste”.

The new Dinnerly expanded menu is launching on 27 May but the new dishes are already available online for consumers. Shipping is priced at A$8.95 and delivery service is available in NSW, VIC, QLD, SA and ACT.
