Cart 8 launches, a marketplace for South Australian F&B brands

Cart 8, an e-commerce marketplace dedicated to South Australian food and beverage producers, has launched during Buy SA Week, offering consumers a single platform to shop products from local brands.

The marketplace allows customers to purchase products across multiple categories, including fresh produce, ready meals, pantry staples, snacks, and beverages, in a single order, with next-business-day delivery available in participating areas.

Founded by former FMCG executive Ethan Tan, Cart 8 launches with brands including Nippy’s, Lucia’s Fine Foods, Halls Soft Drinks, Fleurieu Milk Company, Kangaroo Island Olives, Tucker’s Natural, Pasta Pepe, Craters Crumpets, Kyton’s Bakery, Olga’s Fine Foods, Enzo’s at Home and Mayfair Bakery.

Operating from a warehouse in Woodville, the platform consolidates products from participating suppliers before dispatch through logistics partner Fridge It Logistics.

Tan said the marketplace was created to provide South Australian producers with another pathway to market and to make it easier for consumers to purchase locally made products.

“Rather than local brands being scattered across individual websites or sitting alongside thousands of products in supermarkets, Cart 8 brings them together in one destination,” Tan said.

“Consumers can shop from multiple South Australian producers in a single order, making it easier and more convenient to buy locally.”

Cart 8 launches with producers from metropolitan Adelaide and regional areas, including the Adelaide Hills, Barossa, McLaren Vale, Fleurieu Peninsula, Mount Lofty Ranges, Kangaroo Island and the Riverland.

The company plans to expand its producer network over the coming months and is also exploring opportunities to roll out the marketplace model in other Australian states.
