Airtasker partners with The Good Guys to launch online installation platform

Post-purchase services are in the spotlight following the announcement of a partnership between The Good Guys and Airtasker.

The Good Guys has partnered with the services marketplace to launch a post-purchase platform which connects consumers with one of the appliance retailer’s network of home installers.

The booking portal, which rolled out across The Good Guys store network in June, also streamlines payments for installers and generates full reporting dashboards to give installers access to all of the information they need.

“We are always looking for ways to innovate in terms of the post-purchase experience and partnering with Airtasker to develop this booking portal for our Concierge Home Installation Services has provided us with a unique solution that puts us well ahead of our competitors and makes coordinating services easier and more hassle free for our customers, more efficient for our installer network, and more cost effective for The Good Guys,” said The Good Guys CMO, Robert Ambler-Frazer.

“We have an existing network of approximately 400 installers. They now have access to more jobs from more stores and our customers have access to more installation services and more choice in terms of installers and contractors,” Ambler-Frazer said.

Customers are also able to rate their installer on the platform after the job is complete.

“This is an Australian first, and we’re expecting it to trigger a fundamental shift in how retailers think about the post-purchase customer experience,” Airtasker co-founder and chief operating officer Jonathan Lui said.

“It will revolutionise their installation services by streamlining the process, enabling fast, accurate bookings with seamless contact between customers and installers,” he said.

Airtasker is looking for other partnerships with retailers, launching the Airtasker Ecosystem Partnership program.

Spearheaded by Airtasker’s Lui, the program aims to leverage Airtasker’s expertise in building online marketplaces, and scaling that to other industry verticals.

“There’s a natural affinity with how our Airtasker’s model and the retail sector could work together — so it was a natural starting point for this project. For a company as big and successful as The Good Guys to work with Airtasker it was great to see them thinking ahead of the curve and embracing this innovation,” said Lui.

“As a marketplace with a workforce that is growing rapidly, we’re always looking out for further opportunities in helping other businesses develop their own services based offerings.”
