Shoes of Prey, Mon Purse recognised at 2016 ARA Awards

Two mass customisation start-ups took home prizes from the 2016 Eftpos ARA Australian Retailer Awards. LA-based Aussie start-up Shoes of Prey was named Retail Innovator of the Year and newbie customised bag company Mon Purse was named Multi-Channel Retailer of the Year at ARA’s breakfast event in Melbourne this morning.

The annual awards event recognises the leading businesses and individuals in Australia’s retail industry. Nine winners were selected from the largest field of entries in the ARA Australian Retailer Awards’ 50-year history.

“The team at Mon Purse are so incredibly humbled to be recognized by the ARA and extend warmest congratulations to all of the winners this year. We will continue to innovate and improve our multi-channel offer by always putting the customer first,” said Lana Hopkins, CEO and founder of Mon Purse.

Australian retailers face increasing challenges, event sponsors noted, due to rapid change in the industry and new technology and channels. This underlines the need for innovation in business models and practices.

“We’re so proud and humbled to be recognised as an innovator in today’s ever-changing retail landscape. We’re dedicated to delivering highly relevant experiences to serve our customers in unique and innovative ways and changing the way people shop,” said Jodie Fox, co-founder and chief creative officer at Shoes of Prey.
