US-based Unclaimed Baggage expands online store to Australia, New Zealand
US-based lost luggage merchant Unclaimed Baggage is set to extend shipping to Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Canada.
Customers can now buy luxe brands and items such as electronics and jewellery at a bargain price from the online store and have them shipped internationally.
The retailer stocks more than 7000 unique yet heavily discounted products each day in its retail store in Alabama.
Paul Okimoto, president of Unclaimed Baggage, said: “Given the unprecedented volume of unclaimed luggage and cargo across the transportation industry right now, and with the global economy requiring people to find ways to make their dollars stretch a little bit further, the time is right to extend the Unclaimed Baggage experience beyond US borders.”
The company closed briefly during the pandemic in 2020 pausing all operations. This provided an opportunity to grow its online presence which has since attracted more than 5.5 million visitors.
“While we’re grateful for the continued growth of our business, what we’re most proud of as an organisation is the opportunity to redeem lost and unclaimed items, giving them a second life and supporting sustainability,” said Okimoto.
