Temu joins International Trademark Association

E-commerce platform Temu has joined the International Trademark Association (INTA), as part of its efforts to enhance cross-border IP protection and cross-industry collaboration.

“Constructive collaboration with these efforts can contribute to the protection of intellectual property rights for INTA members and support the removal of counterfeit products from the platform, which ultimately protects consumers,” said Alastair Gray, director of INTA’s anti-counterfeiting.

INTA is a global association comprising more than 6700 organisations with 37,000 trademark professionals and brand owners across 181 countries.

This year, Temu participated in the INTA annual meeting, which featured discussions on anti-counterfeiting-related topics among brand owners, online platforms, and government officials, as well as INTA-led online workshops that provided the latest procedures and practices used by e-commerce platforms and social media companies.

“We value collaboration with industry peers and stakeholders and are dedicated to advancing collective efforts in intellectual property protection,” said Gray.

Since its launch in 2022, Temu has made investments in IP enforcement, including comprehensive seller vetting and compliance training, 24/7 algorithmic monitoring with manual review.

Recently, Temu opened Local Seller Program to all Australian businesses.
