Sherpa sets record for Valentine’s Day deliveries
Australian on-demand courier service Sherpa has set a record week in the lead up to Valentine’s Day.
According to the company, more than 10,000 deliveries were made for Valentine’s Day – with 50 per cent of those on the actual day. In other words, Sherpa delivered seven Valentine’s Day gifts per minute across the country.
The rise in deliveries came largely from the business’ partnership with more than 120 individual floristry and gifting stores, which allows them to offer Sherpa’s same day delivery option.
Most delivered products included roses, edible flowers, cupcakes and champagne gifting. Areas with highest deliveries on Valentine’s Day are Newcastle, Calundrea on The Sunshine Coast, and Gosford on the NSW Central Coast.
“The demand for Sherpa’s Same Day delivery model has increased four-fold since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic as Aussie consumers go online for depth of variety and convenience of delivery,” said Duncan Brett, CEO of Sherpa.
