Optus now offers satellite internet for business customers

Optus has announced that it is now offering high-speed, low-latency satellite internet connection powered by Starlink’s satellite internet service.
The new service, which will be called Satellite Internet for Business, will offer enterprise and small-business customers what is promised to be high-speed internet throughput Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite broadband connectivity.
The solution will support businesses wherever they are in Australia as long as they have a clear view of the sky and a Starlink Business Kit. The service also comes with full Optus support offering customers a one-stop shop for installation, billing, troubleshooting, and helpdesk services.
Ben Vella, Vice President of Enterprise and Mid-Market at Optus, said, “This is a great example of Optus connecting more Australians and providing options to our enterprise and business customers across Australia. We know that small and medium-sized businesses are the backbone of the Australian economy and at Optus we are committed to ensuring they are supported in our digital world.”
Optus promises that its enterprise and business customers will have access to prioritised data connections that can withstand even the most extreme weather conditions anywhere in Australia. It is also touted as a key form of redundancy that provides an always-on back-up solution that can be readily accessed in the event of fire, floods, and natural disasters.
Vella added, “Our customers depend on Optus to adapt at the speed of technology to meet their evolving needs and this is a great example of how Optus is pushing boundaries by empowering Australia’s positive connections while putting customers at the heart of what we do.”
