Online retailer gets distribution rights for global sports brands

Klika Group has acquired the Australian distribution rights for Adidas and Reebok fitness equipment under the terms of a new partnership with global sports and fitness company RFE International.

The partnership sees Klika add two of the world’s most iconic sports brands to its suite of fitness products, which are currently sold under its private label PowerTrain Fitness.

Leo Zaitsev, Klika’s director of commercial operations, described the partnership as a “true testament to the strength of our business” and representative of the next step in its evolution.

The online retailer will distribute the product range via the Klika platform as well as existing online partner verticals.

Klika sells over 10,000 products in a range of categories, from kids’ toys to homewares, but it has carved out a niche by offering trampolines, gazebos and other large and bulky products online. The addition of fitness equipment fits in with that.

“We are always looking at fresh, fun and innovative ways to improve consumers’ shopping experience with us, and build on the trust we have established with our customers. We see our partnership with RFE International as a great milestone for our overall business strategy with an expansion into the premium fitness product range, as we understand that a wider depth of products, prices and brands forms a crucial part of the consumer engagement,” Zaitsev said.

He added that the partnership is well-timed ahead of Christmas.

“We are already in discussions with several groups which are eager to gain access to the Reebok and Adidas range of products we carry. With Christmas and summer just around the corner, the partnership couldn’t have happened at a better time,” he said.

Garry Moon, Oceania sales manager for RFE International, said the partnership is a good fit in terms of Klika’s size, operations and understanding of RFE’s brand and product integrity.

“We look forward to working with Klika and seeing our range succeed via Klika’s various sales channels and platforms in the Australian marketplace,” Moon said.
