Mr Porter to launch Gucci capsule collection
Mr Porter wants to give its customers something they can’t get anywhere else.
The online menswear site has announced a collaboration with the luxury fashion retailer Gucci to launch an exclusive capsule collection on May 18.
This will be Gucci’s second collaboration with the Yoox-Net-a-Porter Group; it created a one-off collection for Net-a-Porter last year.
Designed under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele, the collection includes 43 pieces of ready-to-wear fashion, shoes and accessories, ranging in price from US$200-3,350 and featuring Gucci’s iconic bee and tiger motifs.
Commenting on the upcoming launch, Mr Porter managing director Toby Bateman said he expects it to appeal to the website’s global customer base:
“We are thrilled to partner with Gucci on this exclusive project, at a time when the House is so vibrant and influential in its designs. Alessandro and his team’s talents truly shine through with this unique capsule collection of iconic pieces, all of which we’re sure will be an instant success with our global customer.”
In the run-up to launch, Mr Porter will roll out an integrated marketing campaign across its social media, email, website and app platforms, culminating in an exclusive Mr Porter x Gucci video shot on location in London.
“We are pleased to build on the success of our exclusive capsule collection for Net-a-Porter last year with a new capsule this time for Mr Porter, whose clients are unquestionably some of the most knowledgeable and sophisticated menswear fashion consumers in the marketplace,” said Marco Bizzarri, Gucci’s president and CEO.
