Me&U launches social-oriented dining application
Hospitality platform Me&U has launched its consumer application and website ‘Spots’ across Australia, offering personalised dining recommendations for users.
Spots, launching on app stores this summer, serves as a community hub for Australian customers to share and exchange dining experiences.
“Deciding where to eat is deeply personal, yet the way we save and share our dining discoveries is fragmented across notes, maps, and social media,” said Kim Teo, CEO and co-founder of Me&U.
The application features include social-oriented experiences, such as list-making, venue recommendations from connected users, and sharing and connecting tools.
“Dining has always been social, and we ask friends for recommendations, we share our finds, and we debate our favourites,” said Teo, noting the contrast to consumers trusting the ratings of strangers when weighing dining options.
In 2023, Me&u merged with Mr Yum, a global hospitality platform that offers an order-and-pay tool for mobile, while featuring local venues to consumers.
