Marketplace giant launches Valentines Day tech

On the back of the success of its partnership with Google Assistant, Ebay has launched a personalised shopping experience for Valentines Day.

Customers that say ‘hey Google, ask Ebay to find me a gift’ will be asked a series of questions about their special someone to help Ebay narrow down a gift that suits their loved ones taste and personality.

The technology is able to recognise things like date night preferences, hobbies and ideal getaways – with an eye on finding gift options for hard-to-buy for partners.

Ebay said its launching the initiative after it saw tens of thousands of customers flock to Google Assistant to shop through eBay since launching the partnership last December.
