M-commerce set to outpace ecommerce
Mobile commerce is anticipated to grow faster than ecommerce in 2017, with forecasts indicating that Asia-Pacific markets will drive rapid growth.
A new report from telecommunications analysts BuddleComm indicates that the maturing of the sharing economy is driving business models predicated around mobile sales, causing traditional ecommerce businesses to make adjustments to their own models and competition strategies.
“Most governments around the world are now well aware of the importance of implementing digital services and solutions such as online services, cloud computing and m-government,” the report states. “The benefits of many of these developments include cutting costs and improving processes and information flow with the primary aim to improve customer service for citizens.”
“Cloud computing has been well received by many government organisations and BuddeComm sees governments around the world continue to deploy cloud platforms and indeed increase spending in this area,” it continues.
BuddleComm sees the public sector as a key driver in creating new technologies and driving the digital economy, especially as many public service sectors in APAC face massive cost increases that are economically unsustainable.
