Katy Perry serenades Kiwis in new Menulog campaign

Online food-delivery platform Menulog has released a collaboration with famous singer Katy Perry in an advertising campaign.

According to the company, Katy, along with American musician Kris Pooley and branding firm McCann London created their own version of the Menulog’s theme song ‘Did Somebody Say’ originally penned by Snoop Dogg two years ago.

Morten Belling, MD at Menulog for Australia and New Zealand, said Perry’s “unparalleled star power star power and playful personality” fits well with the company’s image.

Given the fast-growing competition in the local food-delivery market, the track is a part of Menulog’s strategy to strengthen its brand awareness and positioning in New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Belling says that along with expanding its customer base throughout New Zealand – it currently has more than 3000 restaurant partners in 88 cities and towns across the country, servicing 85 per cent of the addressable population – Menulog plans to build relationships with other local companies.

“While we are the most established player in New Zealand, we’re not resting on our laurels and we are reaffirming our commitment to the New Zealand market by investing significantly in brand visibility,” she said.

“We have also invested in a local team – we’re not a new, faceless platform. We see ourselves as a local business that works hand in hand with other local businesses.”

The campaign will be broadcast on TV, radio, digital, outdoor, and social-media platforms.
