The Iconic trials one-hour delivery in Sydney

The Iconic is giving fast fashion a whole new meaning with its 1-hour delivery trial in Sydney this week.

The online-only fashion retailer is offering Australia’s fastest delivery service for a limited time at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, of which it is the official partner.

The Iconic’s chief executive Patrick Schmidt said the decision to trial a 1-delivery service was based on customer demand.

“Faster delivery is something we know our customers want and we’re determined to enable it,” he said, adding that one-hour delivery is just one of the ways the retailer is trying to make customers’ lives easier.

“Ensuring our customers have the latest and most convenient shopping innovations at their fingertips is a huge focus for us, so we can’t wait to see how the trial goes.”

The Iconic was an early adopter of fast delivery, with the launch of 3-hour delivery in Sydney in 2011. The retailer now offers 3-hour, 4-hour, same-day and twilight delivery in Sydney, same-day delivery to Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane and next-day delivery to metro areas in Australia.

It plans to invest $100 million over five years into improving logistics and adding further capacity to its fulfilment centre.

The Iconic’s 1-hour delivery service will be available for free to attendees at the industry-only Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia and the consumer-focused Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition from May 14-19.

Attendees will be able to shop a curated ‘Designer Edit’ from The Iconic’s website, including key styles from Australian designers showing during the week, and collect their orders at The Iconic’s concierge hub at Carriageworks.

Designers include Romance Was Born, Alice McCall, Michael Lo Sordo, We Are Kindred, C/MEO Collective and more.
