Groupon boss Alistair Venn moves to Menulog

Former CEO of Groupon Australia, Alistair Venn, has joined Menulog as managing director.

Venn takes charge of the online food delivery platform as competition in the space heats up, fuelled by the launch of Deliveroo, Foodora (formally Suppertime) and UberEats.

Venn joined Groupon in February 2012 as VP of sales before his appointment as CEO in January 2013. During his time at the helm, he guided the coupon company through challenging time for the daily deals business and repositioned the company as an online marketplace.

Groupon has appointed Steve Traplin as ANZ country manager.

Traplin took up the role in May 2016 and has more than 25 years’ experience in corporate, agency, third party and direct sales, having spent 15 years at Sensis Australia in sales and business transformation roles, and four years at Yellow Pages NZ where he was the head of digital, customer experience and sales.
