Grays Marketplace secures WA foothold with Gregsons acquisition
Australian online marketplace Grays has acquired Western Australian online auction business Gregsons Auctioneers & Valuers.
The Perth-based firm has traded for close to a century, latterly leading the market in online auctions and valuations for heavy industrial equipment.
The new acquisition, due to complete at the beginning of next month, will combine the Grays marketplace and e-commerce technologies with Gregsons’ state-based knowledge and relationships.
“The integration of the Gregsons business will provide a larger vendor base to buyers in WA, while vendors will benefit from the significant scale of the Grays marketplace, which receives over 2 million unique visitors each month,” said Grays CEO Chris Corbin.
“In addition, combining Gregsons’ valuation capabilities with Grays e-commerce technologies will provide a more holistic asset management offering for our combined customers.”
“The purchase will allow our existing team to provide a whole new level of capability to our buyers and sellers across the globe,” said Gregsons GM & director Jack Gregson, who will now join the Grays leadership team.
