DoorDash expands into restaurant reservations in Sydney, Melbourne
DoorDash has launched Reservations, a platform that allows customers to book restaurant tables directly through its app. This is the brand’s first local product rollout since acquiring hospitality platform SevenRooms.
Initially available in Melbourne and Sydney, the feature allows customers to reserve tables powered by SevenRooms at venues such as Bar Julius, Di Stasio Carlton, Embla, Harriot and Lottie. Select restaurants also offer exclusive reservation access for DashPass members, even during peak booking periods.
Every reservation made in the app earns customers credits that can be used on future DoorDash orders, including food and grocery delivery.
DoorDash VP Apac, Simon Rossi, said the feature reflects the company’s plans to expand beyond food delivery.
“We’re not just delivering meals, we’re helping diners connect with some of the most sought-after restaurants,” Rossi said.
“Whether it’s securing a table at a hatted venue or discovering a hidden local gem, this feature makes it easier than ever to enjoy unforgettable dining experiences.”
Initially launched on iOS, Reservations will expand nationally as DoorDash continues to broaden its offering.
