Deliveroo’s Marketplace+ coming to Australia

Food delivery service Deliveroo has announced its Marketplace+ program will launch in Australia in September, enabling businesses with their own rider fleets to join the app.

The new initiative, which allows businesses to use both their own riders and Deliveroo’s rider network, is poised to double the amount of restaurants available to customers from around 6000 to over 12,000 by the end of the year.

“Our ambition is to become the definitive food company and this is a vital part of achieving that aim,” Deliveroo Australia Country Manager Levi Aron said.

“This service will allow Australian restaurants to fulfil more orders at times of high customer demand and extend the times that they can offer delivery services, meaning more amazing food will be available to more people more often.”

Deliveroo currently operates across ten Australian cities, including capital cities and regional centres such as Geelong and Woolongong. Marketplace+ enables restaurants to expand into areas where the service does not currently operate.

The service is already available in the UK, France, Italy, Netherlands and Belgium. Deliveroo said it plans to roll out the service across all markets.
