Collapsed Sendle to be liquidated

Parcel delivery platform Sendle has entered liquidation, nearly two months after it abruptly ceased operations and cancelled all deliveries.

Documents filed with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (Asic) show that members of the company had decided to wind up the business following their general meeting last week.

The company has appointed Shaun Fraser and Jason Preston of McGrathNicol as liquidators.

The latest development spelled the end for the company after eight years of operations.

Founded in 2014, Sendle acted as a middleman between small businesses and major delivery networks.

Last August, the company merged with US-based FirstMile and ACI Logistix, creating a new entity called Fast Group.

The deal did not go according to plan as in December, Federation Asset Management, a major investor in Sendle, accused ACI Logistix of providing inaccurate financial data during the merger process.

Sendle abruptly cancelled all scheduled deliveries on January 12 and informed customers that it was no longer taking any future bookings.
