Bondi Sands launches beach-like virtual experience

Australian tanning brand Bondi Sands has introduced Bondi Sands Beachfront, a virtual experience designed to drive customer engagement with gamified experiences as well as its loyalty rewards.

“Our goal in creating the Bondi Sands Beachfront was to give our customers a fun and immersive touchpoint that not only deepens brand engagement but also champions sun safety education,” said Kym Bonollo, Bondi Sands’ director of brand and marketing. 

In partnership with Napster Corp, a technology company for e-commerce and digital media, the AR service is available on Bondi Sands’ website and Apple Vision Pro devices in Australia, the US, the UK, and Europe.  

The initiative, inspired by the Bondi Beach brand, allows customers to interact with a virtual beach environment, earn loyalty rewards, and play an AR surfing game.

“We wanted to engage younger audiences through a dynamic and gamified experience that encourages SPF awareness and healthy sun habits.”

Highlighting the importance of sun safety, the Bondi Sands game also embodies the Aussie beach lifestyle. On the website, the brand’s loyalty program, Club Bondi, enables customers to earn points, unlock rewards, and achieve a ranking.

The AR service is available for a limited time and will soon be available on the App Store.
