Bigcommerce secures eBay deal

Australian start-up, Bigcommerce, has struck a deal with eBay Australia, providing its users with a new sales channel.

The partnership, known as eBayLink, is an integration two years in the making which allows Bigcommerce sellers in Australia and New Zealand to easily and efficiently list products and manage inventory on eBay’s marketplace.

“Through the eBay integration, we’ve been able to open up an entirely new sales channel that has dramatically increased our online revenue,” said Kerrie Harrison of Baby Barn. “We’ve found the integration easy to use and update, and are constantly updating our stock as it sells out.”

The partnership will give Bigcommerce users the ability to access tens of millions of new customers.

“eBay’s vibrant seller and buyer networks in Australia and New Zealand are unparalleled, and this partnership enables Bigcommerce merchants to directly access tens of millions of potential customers,” said Russell Klein, Bigcommerce SVP of corporate development. “Our desire is to provide merchants the tools required to increase sales and reach new audiences without introducing technical complexity.”

Using eBayLink, sellers can sync stock levels and eBay orders with their online store for streamlined fulfilment and order management. Once integrated, they will be able to view their entire product catalogue and inventory within the Bigcommerce control panel and their customers will be automatically alerted on their order status.

“We look forward to working with Bigcommerce to introduce thousands of new sellers to the largest community of online shoppers in Australia,” said eBay senior director retailer growth, Tim MacKinnon. “In today’s competitive industry, retailers have an incredible opportunity to grow their business across multiple channels, and this integration gives them the opportunity to reach millions of new customers.”
