Amazon Australia partnered with Afterpay to offer BNPL option

Amazon Australia has partnered with Afterpay to offer Australian shoppers a BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) service on its online marketplace. 

To integrate the BNPL option on Amazon, shoppers can link an Afterpay account to the Amazon wallet on the website or app and split the purchase payment into four interest-free instalments at checkout. 

“With Afterpay now available at checkout on Amazon Australia, we’re empowering millions of shoppers to access what they want, when they want it, all while maintaining control of their spending,” said Katrina Konstas, EVP, Afterpay CM.

Amazon’s director of Apac payment, Sujit Misra, said the partnership improves Australian customers’ shopping experience by offering another flexible payment option on Amazon in “just a few easy clicks”.

Earlier, Gumtree online resale marketplace teamed with PayPal to launch its first BNPL method.
